This expansion to Dominion contains 25 new kingdom cards and 2 new standard cards, allowing players to build beyond Gold and Provinces. The central theme is wealth; there are money cards with action capabilities, cards that interact with money cards, and expensive, powerful cards. Furthermore, the game contains 9 tableaus and a supply of coins and victory point tokens. Dominion Welvaart can only be played in combination with Dominion or Dominion Intrige.
Dominion Welvaart makes it possible to do more with money cards. Therefore, they must now be played in an order of your choice. Since there is a lot more money in the game than usual, players can buy standard cards like Platinum (which is worth 5 coins) and Colony (which is worth 10 victory points). There are also cards that provide extra victory points in the form of tokens. With this expansion, the options become even greater than they already were!
