Galactic Era is an epic space civilization builder from Seajay Games. Each player leads a fledgling spacefaring civilization expanding across the galaxy. You will explore and take over distant planets, improve your technologies, trade with allies and fight your enemies.

The story
The Galactic Age is the greatest cycle of time. Beings of light incarnate to experience the material world. They create great civilizations to explore and conquer the galaxy. The largest will determine the fate of the galaxy before returning to the light.

The cycle consists of three parts. First comes an age of light. Civilizations of light and growth are stimulated. This is followed by an age of darkness. Now civilizations of darkness reign and conflict rages. The third age supports the return to the light again. The latest discoveries in knowledge are being made.

It is the beginning of the cycle and you are one such being. You lead a fledgling spacefaring civilization, ready to expand across the galaxy. Before meeting others, you must decide your morals. Will you respect others and work together peacefully, or will you exploit others for your own gain? Do you bring darkness or light into the universe?

The choice is yours.

Balance
You can play on the light side or the dark side. But be aware of the consequences!
Players on the light side should play more peacefully. So you will be more reliable to others. You can also easily form alliances with advanced civilizations you discover. However, as a dark side player you have the freedom to be as aggressive as you want. You can also change direction during the game for a fee (an action during the growth phase).

Fighting without luck
The amount of happiness is very small. Combat is deterministic with hidden information (no randomness). This gives the game great strategic depth and rewards long-term planning.

Tactical rock-paper-scissors mechanism
Major tactical choices are also given by the individual fleet capabilities that have advantages over each other in a rock-paper-scissors fashion. This means that no single tactic works all the time.

Epic Powers
Gain epic powers by increasing your technology levels. You can obtain new levels of technology in several ways. You can research, steal or even discover them while colonizing new planets. The highest levels are very powerful. You can have super-armed spaceships, or travel anywhere instantly, or have an invincible population. The gameplay is very different depending on which path you choose.

Trading technologies
You can also exchange technologies with other players. Both you and your trading partner teach each other a new skill without losing anything. This is one of the most effective ways to work together in the game.

Gameplay overview
You win by scoring the most destiny points. You do this mainly by having a large population and fulfilling various conditions and goals.

The game is played in 8 rounds. Each round you do the following:

1. Move and fight
You take turns moving your spaceships, exploring new worlds and fighting battles.

2. Grow
Everyone simultaneously chooses some actions to expand their space civilization. This way you get new technologies, more stars, population and ships.

3. Trade
You can also exchange technologies with other civilizations with which you have peaceful contact.

4.Score
At the end of each round you score points. Each round belongs to one of the three eras. The scoring is different in each of these eras and offers completely different incentives and rewards.
