Galaxy Trucker is een snel en gek familiespel waarin 2 tot 4 spelers gelijktijdig beginnen met het snuffelen door het gemeenschappelijke magazijn, in een verwoede poging om de meest bruikbare onderdeeltegels te pakken voor het bouwen van hun ruimteschip – allemaal in realtime. Zodra de schepen zijn gelanceerd, zullen spelers gevaarlijke situaties tegenkomen terwijl ze strijden om financiële kansen – elk in de hoop de meest waardevolle lading te krijgen en te eindigen met zoveel mogelijk van hun schip nog intact.
Of course, that's easier said than done, because many hazards cause pieces of your ship, your cargo and your crew to be thrown into the depths.
The goal is to survive the journey (hopefully with at least some of your crew and ship intact) and have at least one credit at the end of the game (win, yay!). Players earn credits by delivering goods, defeating pirates, having the most beautiful ship and reaching their destination before the others.
