Keyflower is a game for two to six players that plays over four rounds.
Each round is a season: spring, summer, autumn and finally winter. Each player starts the game with their own home tile and a team of eight workers and these come in the colors red, yellow or blue.
The workers of similar colors are used to bid for tiles to add to your village.
The workers can also be used to generate resources, skills and additional workers.
And you can also use your opponents' tiles!
In the spring, summer and fall, new workers arrive aboard the Keyflower and her sister boats, some with the capabilities to handle the important raw materials of iron, stone and wood.
In each of these seasons, a number of tiles are randomly auctioned.
In winter, no new workers arrive, but players select the village tiles to be auctioned from those they received at the beginning of the game.
Each winter tile rewards players with victory points for certain combinations of resources, abilities, and workers.
The player whose village and workers generate the most victory points is the winner of the game.
Two major expansions have now also been released for Keyflower that can be combined with the basic game.
The first expansion is Keyflower: The Farmers and the second expansion is Keyflower: The Merchants.
