Brave Earthlings are on their way to colonize Mars. Cleverly stationed in Martian orbit, these colonists wait while dispatched robots build habitable domes on the surface. To do this, these machines mine, manufacture and move the necessary raw materials along highways. Working quickly and accurately is essential, as the colonists, high in the sky, are in danger of running out of oxygen reserves (hourglass) and their salvation lies entirely in the hands of these robots that toil on the Martian surface.
GAME CONCEPT
Magic Maze on Mars is a real-time cooperative game. Each player can, at any time, control a pawn to perform a very specific action that other players do not have access to: move on a green, blue, orange track, explore a new zone, feed the space snail, etc. This requires careful cooperation between all players to move the pawns wisely and reach the goal before the hourglass runs out.
However, players are only allowed to interact with each other for a short time during the game. The rest of the time the game is played without giving verbal or visual cues to the other players. With children you can of course choose to communicate, which makes it easier. It becomes even easier if the hourglass is also omitted.
GOAL OF THE GAME
All players win the game if all Settler tokens manage to reach their residential dome within the time limit, these domes must be built first.
The players have the duration of an hourglass when starting the game. Hourglass boxes allow them to extend this duration throughout the game. If at any point the hourglass is completely depleted before the colonists reach their domes, then it's game over for all players: the colonists died from lack of oxygen!
