Product description Queensland
In Queensland, the country is being overrun by a veritable plague of toads!
In the 1930s, the highly poisonous Cane Toads were introduced from Hawaii to the Australian state of Queensland to protect sugar cane plantations against a species of beetle that was eating the plants.
However, this exotic giant toad had no natural enemies and did nothing at all with the beetles; there was plenty of other food. Moreover, the toads moved en masse from the farms to the water bodies to reproduce there. This created a veritable plague of toads that continues to this day.
Queensland is a lightweight tactical tile game. By laying tiles you build your own farm, with which you collect points. You get points for the number of tiles with scarecrows or cows that you manage to collect or for the largest sugar plantation that you manage to form with the tiles.
However, every tile you create comes with at least one path. After placing the tile, all toads move according to the arrow on the new tile. By guiding the toads to pond tiles you can remove them and score extra points. Toads left at the end of the game destroy the underlying tiles, disrupting your farm.
Queensland is an original twist on well-known tile games, where making the right tactical choices and good planning is of great importance. Because some tiles move not only your frogs but also those of your opponents, you have to make many tactical choices.
In addition to the basic game, Queensland also contains a solo variant. This has 7 different scenarios with assignments, each of which can be played at 3 different difficulty levels. Plenty of challenge, from beginner to expert!
