Product Description The Witcher Old World: Monster Trail
The world after the Gathering of the Spheres is full of fearsome beasts. No one who travels alone can feel safe. Lurking drowned men, demons marching through graveyards or harpies swooping down from the sky are just a few of the threats that await travelers!
It adds even more depth to various elements of the game: tracking and fighting monsters, building your deck and combos, using bombs, taking advantage of mutagens, and adding special cards to your starting decks.
Includes a playable School of the Manticore Witcher, advanced action cards for your witcher, and 17 large monster cards, one for each of the beasts of the Old World. These cards contain a new, advanced special ability of the monster and descriptions of four special attacks. These attacks are directly related to the characteristics of the Monster in the world of the Witcher.
When a Monster appears on the board, players place an extra large card next to the board – this is visible to everyone and is associated with one specific Monster.
In addition to the 17 big cards, this expansion introduces 4 special battle cards. Before fighting a monster, you shuffle 2, 3, or 4 cards randomly into its Life Pool (depending on the Monster's level). This makes fighting a powerful, massive Werewolf a completely different experience than facing a Foglet hiding in mists and illusions. Furthermore, every fight with the same Monster will be unique, as it is not certain which special attacks will appear and in what order.
With Special Combat Cards you can diversify the battles and introduce a completely new mechanic – Passive Attacks. When a Monster discards a Special Combat Card due to its damage, the passive attack is automatically activated.
Various special and passive attacks from monsters mean that the player's decisions while tracking the Monster and during battles must be considered even more carefully.
The Witcher Old World: Monster Trail will suit you if you also get excited about Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
