Alone is an asymmetric sci-fi survival horror game for 2 to 4 players. One player controls the castaway, who has a limited amount of time to complete missions as he must explore a path full of dangers and traps that are only revealed to him bit by bit. The threats are delivered by 1-3 evil masterminds who will do their best to prevent our hero from completing a quest to discover the truth and rescue his companions!
The Evil players always have the entire map of the scenario in front of them, hidden behind a huge screen. They manage all the events that happen during the game and try to prevent the hero from completing his goals.
The hero can only see the sector of the map he is in and from there the hero must explore the map. All kinds of horrors can hide in the darkness, so he'll have to be careful. At the end of each round, the parts of the map that have been explored are removed from the table: only the sector in which the hero is located remains visible... lost!
The game's story will unfold through several scenarios, each divided into several chapters. Each chapter has a goal that the Hero must complete, while the Evil players must stop him (or attempt to complete another goal). The outcome of each chapter will influence the gameplay of the next: each scenario is devised with a branching storyline that can adapt to the players' actions – if the hero completes their goals, their lives will be easier in the next chapter… but that goes for the Evil players too!
